Accession #  1383 PSI-MS Name  Interim Name  PyridoxalPhosphateH2
Description  PLP bound to lysine reduced by sodium borohydride (NaBH4) to create amine linkage
Alt. Description  Pyridoxal Phosphate reduced
Composition  H(10) C(8) N O(5) P Monoisotopic  231.029660 Average  231.1425
Specificity Definition 1
Site  K Position  Anywhere Classification  Chemical derivative
Comment  This is a chemical derivatization of the PLP imine with sodium borohydride to reduce imine bound through lysine epsilon amine group to chemical stable amine linkage
Notes and References
Source  Other Reference  We are currently trying to profile the PLP proteins of various bacteria and locate their binding sites using LC-MS of trypsin treated proteins. Under these condition the PLP imine is cleaved and therefore we need to reduce the imine bond to the chemical stable amine using sodium borohydride
